Allen’s Smoky Skies is a new favorite of mine. As blooms age their dusty pink coloring deepens to smoky raspberry with purple mauve undertones and their semi-cactus form becomes more pronounced. It blends well with many color palettes and adds textural interest to floral arrangements.
Photographed with Allen’s Smoky Skies are dahlias Lee’s Sugar Rush and RM Berry Kiss. The fifth and sixth photos show deeply saturated blooms of ASS; these were taken very late in the season, and bloom color more closely resembles the other photos—especially the beautiful gradated coloring seen in the last photo.
