RAEANN'S ORION

RaeAnn’s Orion (2025 intro) is a lovely orchette-type dahlia with cranberry petals that gently fade at the tips and white twizzles. The backs of the petals are softer in color and roll slightly inward at the tips, creating a striking contrast with the darker faces.

If you don’t already grow orchid-type dahlias, I highly recommend trying them—those long, pointed petals make a bolder statement in arrangements than any other dahlia form I’ve used, making them fantastic for floral design.

I want to note that the last photo shows the petals curling backwards. This is not the bloom’s natural form but the result of accidentally placing the stems in an empty bud vase the day I photographed them. I contemplated leaving the photo out, but I still found them beautiful even as they were wilting.
