Lee’s Sugar Rush quickly became a new favorite of mine. The beautiful mauve-pink, three-inch blooms have luscious petals that curl back slightly at the edges, giving the flowers a roselike appearance. Blooms are borne on long, sturdy stems and make excellent cut flowers, adding a touch of sweetness to bouquets. Plants are extremely prolific and produced more blooms than any other variety in the field. I highly recommend growing this one—she’s lovely!
Photographed with Lee’s Sugar Rush is dahlia Hollyhill Sweet 16.
Note: The last four outdoor photos of Lee’s Sugar Rush appear more purple. While it does have purple undertones, the bloom color more closely matches the other photos. I debated leaving those outdoor shots out, but they capture the ruffled petals beautifully—what makes these blooms feel tender, romantic, and really special.
