Lee’s Hubba Bubba is one of the most beautiful shades of pink I have ever seen on a dahlia. The mesmerizing magenta blooms have lighter petal tips that give an icy-silver shimmer and soft purple centers. The flowers have beautifully pointed petal tips and a high petal count that is eye-catching both in the garden and in the vase. Plants are robust, early to bloom, and produce an abundance of beautiful, easy-to-store tubers—one of the few varieties that yields perfect, normal shaped tubers from cuttings. Blooms are a little top-heavy, so it’s best to harvest them early or use adequate bouquet filler for extra support (see last two photos).
